LILI BUNCE

"By restoring women’s dignity, we prepare them to contribute."

"Ours is an old model that has become sexy again," says Lili Bunce, Executive Director of Making Changes Association. For 30 years, this organization has supported unemployed, underemployed and in-transition women.
Taking the reins in 2010, Lili's stewardship led to exponential growth, including the introduction of an expansive, multi-faceted facility. "We began with an education program for immigrant women — the first of its kind — and grew from there," she notes.
A natural offshoot, The Walk in Closet helps women rejoin the workforce by empowering them through clothing donations. "Through a remarkable range of donors, including independent retailers, we offer designer clothing, shoes and accessories," Lili explains.
Recently launched, My Best Friend's Closet supports teenagers. "Our teen volunteers help the girls choose fashionable outfits so they feel confident going back to school," says Lili. "We'll see 500 girls in our first year!"
Relying on the passion of nearly 200 volunteers, many who have benefitted from the program, Making Changes’ success is truly a testament to the compassion of the community.
