WOMEN FOR A HUMANE CANADA

"Investing in the future of animal welfare."

"We imagine a humane Canada and believe now is the time to invest in animal welfare to make change happen in this generation."
Barbara Cartwright, CEO of the Canadian Federation of Humane Societies (CFHS), saw a natural fit for women to come together to share thinking, invest their time and talent, and build financial resources to tackle this change.
"At CFHS, we know what we want to achieve, but we need big thinking and bold ambitions to get animal welfare on the national agenda across Canada. Women fill more than 70% of leadership positions in our organizations as staff and volunteers — and they represent the largest group of donors — so who better to lead the charge?"
Introducing WOMEN FOR A HUMANE CANADA. The seven founding members encourage like-minded women from across Canada to join them in this important initiative.
"We need to improve the laws, improve enforcement and elevate public thinking about the role of animal welfare in society."
