ELISABETH BAUGH

"Overcoming ovarian cancer by supporting women, raising awareness and funding research."

For the past year, Elisabeth Baugh has asked Canadians one question: "Do you have the ladyballs to do something about ovarian cancer?"
As the central message in an edgy public awareness campaign, the so-called 'ladyballs' ad hit a nerve.
With more than 63 million earned media impressions worldwide in just the first three months of 2016, the Ovarian Cancer Canada campaign was handed two Cannes Lions Awards for Health and Public Relations.
For Elisabeth, that's just a tick on her to-do list.
"More than 2,800 women in Canada are diagnosed each year; 55 per cent will not survive five years. The sad reality is that by the time you’ve got symptoms, you're not at an early stage. So we're recommending women consider preventive measures before and after childbirth."
The charity is also taking their message to Ottawa, where they are lobbying the government to increase research funding.
"We're on a roll. And yes, we do have the ladyballs to make this change!"
