ADELE TEVLIN

"You condition yourself to good or bad habits. It's up to you to choose."

You're a weight-loss consultancy for high-performing professionals. Why is your method so much more effective than others?
Over the years, I realized there was a gap between what people know about health and what they do to pursue wellness, or not. I studied Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) at the BECK Institute in Philadelphia and the University of Toronto. Ten years later, Adele Wellness has a data-backed success rate demonstrating that CBT, combined with my nutritional expertise, fills the knowing-doing gap.

What impact have you seen in your work?
My clients are responsible for the vision of their companies and know that weight loss, combined with CBT, positively impacts their confidence, their productivity and their relationships at work and at home. Whether they are on leadership teams at work or dealing with children at home, they simply need help identifying what's been in their way to sustainably change their behavior around their health and wellness.

There's a lot of competition in this space. What's been key to your growth?
Mindset! One hundred per cent. I've worked towards the goal of impacting people's lives at a totally new level and surrounding myself with people who believe in my vision. Those two things are important to getting rid of the toxic noise and creating a business that is truly different than the others; one that delivers value and serves the life that I want to live, not the other way around.

You also have a great way with people.
Thank you! People tell me that when I walk into a room I completely change the energy to become more inviting. I want my clients to feel at ease, so they can open up and feel comfortable communicating the challenges they're dealing with at home and at work. That's what I am replicating at Adele Wellness. Connecting on a deeper level helps us understand deep-rooted stimuli and identify the best-possible application of CBT for changing behaviour.

It sounds like you are your brand. That must present its own challenges?
Yes, it does. It's not just about figuring out how to hire people in alignment with me and my business values, but also giving them the tools to operate the business as if they were me. However, I've got a great team of qualified ladies who support me in the growth of my business and impact on my clients.
